There were all six classes of the sports triennium of Manzoni High School this morning in the Auditorium for a new stage of the course Communication in Sport. To flank Sabrina Orlando e Michele Forino, one of the big names de Il Resto del Carlino as well as a successful writer, Lorenzo Sani, that thanks to the event Happy Hand organized by the association Willy The King, of which he is president, has known Francesco Messori, special guest of the morning.
Born without right leg, but with a passion for football that allows him to overcome any obstacle, Francesco He began playing as a goalkeeper as a child, using the prosthesis that had allowed him to learn to walk, to then choose to abandon it and find "your own freedom" thanks to the use of crutches, moving into the attacker role.
However, not being able to play with crutches by regulation in the FIGC youth championships, he managed to do it thanks to the CSI, then founding the National Amputee Footballers, of which he is Captain and which has achieved great international results, from which a first Italian Championship was also born. Hence the nickname "Messi", for the similarity of the surname but above all the goodness of the left foot.
Fame and success followed fame, but also an emptiness inside that led him to no longer recognize himself, but only an appearance devoid of importance and of any meaning. From refusing to even look in the mirror, falling into an ever deeper depression, which led him to hospitalization and, mostly, to the point of tragically seeking the end.
It was a light that came to him directly from God that saved him, seizing the infinite love and finding the strength to go back to being himself, the Francesco Messori little boy whose passion led him to realize not only his dream, but also that of many other boys. And it is precisely with the boys that today he wants to share his experience, a story of sport and life.
